This is my country

November 12, 2018 by dspolo

Earlier this year, it was hard to miss that a rather non-descript garage at Kimball and Foster was painted red, white and blue. It made me curious about who owned/managed it. You can find out anything on the internet, so I learned that the owner/manager is Syrian. So today I stopped to take a photo at the garage and to ask about why they had painted it. I met Sam, the son of Sayed who came outside for this photo. He told me that he painted the garage because he loves this country and loves what the flag stands for. He told me he grew up here since 1996 that that this was his country too.
