60,000 people came together to be demonstrate that families belong together and it is time to abolish ICE. It was an incredible day of people coming together in Chicago despite the heat to oppose Trump’s racist attacks against immigrants. This sign spoke to me. Every day there are new attacks against immigrants, people of color, cities, women, the LGBTQ community — and the list goes on. Their sense of control is an illusion. When you deny people their rights and disenfranchise them and undermine our democracy – you do it at your own risk.
