Slowing Down and Stepping Back

May 22, 2018 by dspolo

I spent some time in Leelanau County Michigan, and it was like going back in time – not going back years, decades or centuries, just going back a week or two.   In Chicago everything was deep green and the trees are fully leafed out when I left.   As I drove north it was like I was turning back the calendar and seeing the trees, shrubs and flowers like they were two weeks ago.  It is kind of like a spring “do over.”  Being in Michigan always fees slower and further removed from the crises of the world, even if that is only an illusion.  There it feels like it all about sand, water, trees, wildflowers, and this trip birds and a porcupine.
